hi, i bought a td performance relocation kit number 1113. threw a local store and no one in town has the part i need. i
have a 1986 f250 4x4 with 460 engine and a 4 speed manual. the problem i have is that the truck has a 90 degree angle oil filer adaptor now and when i remove it there is no threads sticking out of the block to attach the spin-on filter bypass adapter to. any one know of a fitting and place to get it ? or know of a place to get a new 90 degree oil adaptor?
i tryed to buy a new 90 degree oil adaptor from Ford but they stop making them.
When I put my relocater kit on (from JC Whitney) it came with all the threaded parts...If there are no threads on the block, how does the oil filter attach?
You need to go to Ford and get the parts guy to look up the oil filter insert for the block.
Or get a 3/4" nut that will screw onto the adapter bolt you currently have (to check the correct threads), saw it in half, take the two halves with a pair of wrenches and head to the junk yard to get one of an old Ford motor. Any size engine will work. You then take a socket and remove the 90* adapter fitting from your block and screw the one from the junkyard into the the block.
Earlier model Ford engines used an oil filter insert that had a hex on it. You could use a socket like 1 1/4" to take them out of the block.
