Oil Cooler

Hey, I have been considering installing an engine oiler cooler on my 88 351W. I have seen two types: One that uses a sandwhich adaptor between the oil filter, and one that relocates the filter. Has anyone used either of these? My main concern with both is dropping the oil pressure by running it through a cooler. Any input is appreciated!
Thanks Guys!

Oil Cooler

I've had an oil cooler on my 82 460 for about 15 years. Mine is the sandwich type made by Hayden that goes between the filter and filter block. Works real well and hasn't given me any problems. It also has a bypass built in so that when oil temperature is low it won 't circulate to the cooler. Only caution, be sure that when you route the oil line to the cooler in front of the radiator that you keep them away from any sharp edges like the radiator fins, sheet metal, etc. Having one of those lines leaking will cause a quick drop in oil pressure and if the situation is right, like cruising down the highway at 70, could cause some serious engine damage.

Oil Cooler

Forgot to say that oil pressure is not affected since once the system is installed and the lines and cooler filled with oil, pressure will be the same as without the cooler.
