5r110 shifting problem
Got a 5r110 in my 06 f250 with 5.4, 118k miles. Between 1st and 2 somtimes it'll hesitate/shutter slightly but more often between 2 and 3 it will seem to hesitate going into gear and yesterday it slammed into gear. I dropped the pain replaced the internal filter and only saw a slight amount of clutch material on the magnet, from the looks of the gasket id say it had never been dropped. I was wondering would replacing the external filter fix this? Or could it be a solenoid sticking

It could be a solenoid sticking. Replacing the internal filter does no good. Replacing the external filter may fix the sticking solenoid, though it will take some driving for the external filter to clean out the contaminants that may be causing your problem.

Upgrade the internal filter to the later pleated style. Not saying it will fix what might be a mechanical problem, but it won't hurt and will be better in the long run:

The external filter will be done Monday. Its on there pretty good and I don't wanna rip it off the frame so I'm having a local shop replace it for now. If it solves the trans great but if not then ill look into solenoids. And as far as upgrading I probably will if it ends up fixing the issues I'm having. Are there any other issues yall think could be going on? Trans Temp is good, doesn't slip in first and I did the work I mentioned.
