question regarding coolant flush (Gooch's) technique

I'm on board with Gooch's write-up, But I have one question. I don't want to put any tap water in the engine. Someone already installed a "flush T" on the heater hose. Here is what I'm hoping to do...

I have a 5 gallon bucket with a hose bib on it that I could keep filled with distilled water. rather that flush with tap water can I just hang the bucket in my garage, hook up the bucket/hose to the "flush t" and flush that way? Only thing I'm worried about is the bucket not having enough pressure to force the D water into the system. will the FlushT be on a vacuum or very little pressure so this will work? I assume the Flush T is on the return line and has little or no pressure?
I feel like this would be a simple and quick way to flush if possible? Run the motor, flush till clear. use radiator drain, fill with coolant and done???!!!

A lot of people wait until they are having problems with overheating before they change their coolant. I'm trusting this is not the case.

You can make it work the way you are thinking. It would probably do fine with tap water followed by distilled water also, limit the time and heat.

A cheap transfer pump could supply pressure if it would make you feel better. eBay has some really cheap ones, $10. It's gonna be a slow process the way you are thinking. This would be my concern on an intuitive level. You might have air pockets in the jackets while you were running the engine and hot spots. I wouldn't run it a long time.

You didn't mention the block drains or pulling the bottom radiator hose. That might help you. I've used silicone grease to seal radiator hose joints.

You didn't mention a filter. A filter can be a cheap addition with some added benefit.

You didn't mention SCA or coolant. Two types SCAs, DCA-2, DCA-4?. Test strips must match SCA. Three types coolant. As a minimum know ASTM D3306, D4985, D6210.

Material in injector sleeves may have a conflict with other types of coolant, no ELC.

There are more types of coolant but three with reference to early PSD.

Some more reading. Filter all of this. Note that this link goes to the forum for later model 7.3s.
