They predicted we would see rain about noon in WV. In the western area where I live it has only sprinkled and sis not start that until after 7pm. I does look like it will rain for most on Monday.
Still sending Thoughts and prayers to everyone in her path past , present and future.
Well what is left of Flo passed through from about 7pm to 9am and we had only a slight breeze and in 14 hours 1.62 inches of rain. Looks like we are in the clear unless a popup rain/storm happens. She broke up and pushed off west, north and some to the east.
I hope everyone and everything is returning to normal quickly and any without power is getting it back soon.

apparently the reminents are still spawning tornados... they got us on a watch... but are not sure if another will appear... bot some thunder boomers moving past.. but not sure if we will get any...
dunno about Josh's area.. but here theyre now saying if your out and pass a station to stop and make sure your topped off before heading home... not for a supply/demand reasoning.. but because of all the road closures and still threats of flooding in some areas could make travel times extended and they dont want to have to keep rescuing people from running out of gas in their vehicles...
Didn’t check the stations as I’ve got enough gas in my five gallon can to run the house for a week for what I need. I’ll skip topping up the truck and leave the fuel for those that have to drive and have medical conditions.
Got the call this morning from Catherine who was having a meltdown, close to two feet of water in her basement, and the one pump I gave her wasn’t keeping up with the flow, checked Home Depot for a rental trash pump, but couldn’t get one so grabbed two floor pumps and took them over. Ran for 7 hours and was able to bring down the level significantly.
Then broke out the chainsaw and worked on getting the branches and stuff cut up and also freeing all those trees and branches from the grape vines, that grab and fight everything you try and do.
Then got the call that the roof at her school was leaking so got over there, but not much I could do. Back to her house and another two hours or so with the saw. Got a lot of the brush handled so that’s good.
With the trip and two days off work, I’m so far behind I can’t afford another day missing work, so I won’t get to finish what I started until the weekend, but made good progress.
Going to try get some supplies up to Cary tomorrow, the family that runs the ferry that I take to the islands evacuated and are carrying supplies back to the coast, so I’d like to help them out, if I can get out there after work.

Beers To You! For doing the right thing.
Only thing I can't figure out is why people choose to stay, with advisements to evacuate. Especially if you have a medical condition.
I'm surrounded on 3 sides by water. The Pacific Ocean is at my front door. If there was a storm like that, and plenty of warning was given so that I can't say that I didn't know.......I would evacuate. Head inland. Head to higher ground. Get out of the storm zone. I could deal with the clean-up later.
For whatever reason, the Pacific Ocean whips up punishing weather in SouthEast Asia. Philippines. Hong Kong. Malaysia. Vietnam. Thailand. Singapore. California never gets a storm like that. Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame will never be flooded out.
Soooooooo.... we took a damn beating. Had tropical storm force winds mid day Thursday, and hurricane force by Thursday evening into Friday, and the winds didn't slack off tell Saturday afternoon. We lost power Thursday afternoon and cable/internet st the same time, Verizon is also a no go except early AM. lots of flooding in the area, luckily my house is high and dry... many others not so lucky. We rode out Friday afternoon to get some truck AC and explore a little, both ways out of my road had 12-18" of water over them but the Supercrew didn't mind. We finally got power back yesterday, but still no cable/internet and Verizon is still barely functioning with no internet. House damage was limited too a bunch of shingles and 2 leaks in the house. Lost alot of limbs and 2 trees in the yard..
Anyways we I'm off to work to assist in recovery operations on Cherry point.

It is probably different for each individual. Some may not know who they can go to, or where. Some may not have enough money or transportation to get away. I also believe that some feel that they have survived so many storms, that this is just another one of the same, and that they have never needed to evacuate before, so why do so now.
I, myself was not in a mandatory evacuation location. I also opened my house to others that were. Here we expected heavy rains, and some minor wind. Which is what we received. With plenty of food and supplies, and the only thing I wasn't prepped for was gas. However, if needed, I could have stolen gas from various machines, I wasn't too worried. Further along to the coast, everyone had there own reasons for staying. I'm not gonna say they all had good reasons, but they had reasons. Also it depends on your capabilities and knowledge.

Larry good to hear from you, and glad to see you are returning to the normal everyday grind of work! It's a good sign that things aren't that out of place and everything is getting back to normal.

Tony, that was just Monday. Saturday and Sunday, I stayed hunkered down, cooking on the smoker and breaking out the camp chef. We ate good through out the storm.
