I guess we will see... I feel like if they get to much over $800-1000 they're going to try to total it. If they do I'll just take what ever for it and buy it back.
Got the estimate done and the body shop approved by her body shop... Dude wrote it for just over $2400.... so needless to say I'm sure they're gonna try to total it out. I have all intentions of "buying it back" and gonna keep on rolling it.
slStill waiting on the phone call from USAA to actually tell me what they're going to do.
I'm not sure what I was thinking approving Sparky's request to join the Carolina chapter!

WTH?!?!?! they painting it with gold or something??
Prices have changed a lot, Shawn. Materials increases plus EPA requirements raise costs or drive a lot of body shops out of business. Son hit a deer with my 93 Grand Marquis. Header panal, head lights, bumper cover.. Over $2500 est. Had some parts I purchased previously for $55, those and a $35 qt of paint and it was good to go. NY EPA, DEC etc does not want me to do any painting because it's not an "approved" paint booth and I don't have "proper" disposal of old thinner/reducers. Some places are not allowed to sell to DIYers.
More govt. BS
The camper or the tent that goes in the back of the truck?
the camper. I’ve already decided on a tent if I go that route. I’m just exploring options though. Found a single axle toy hauler that I’m interested in. I’ve also looked at a lot of other used campers. Rv’s and toy haulers. But never spending much time around campers, I don’t know what I don’t know. Right?
So whats the weight/lengthen of the one you own. What do you like about it and what would you change if you could?
It's a 1999 Terry.
27 ft.
Dry weight 5,770.
GVWR 7,700
Hitch wt. 610
One slide.
Only thing I don't like about mine is the bathroom is to small. When your looking, get in the tub and close the door/curtain and see if you have enough room to move around without hitting the door or getting stuck to the curtain.
make sure you can bend over the sink far enough to brush your teeth without hitting your head on the cabinet.
Will you be camping with others, then you may want to get dressed in the bathroom after you shower. Do you have room to get dressed without being a contortionist?
Other wise it works well for us.
I don't really like towing a trailer.
Winterize/un winterize is a pain especially if you only use it once or twice a season.
What all does winterizing and un winterizeing entail? Is that just dealing with the tanks and such? or is there more? I don't really want to go with something that heavy I don't believe, though even the f150 is rated to tow that and more. I will definately give thought to the bathroom as the idea is to not always be camping alone in the thing. Having people around makes it more interesting, and less cooking on me to do.

I drain the system, flush with antifreeze, drain, pull the anode on the water heater to drain, pour antifreeze in all the sinks and tub to fill the traps, drain black and gray tanks...
Then I go get a Scotch & Soda.
Reverse in the spring...
