Ok I have had my 312 cylinder heads fixed. I have Felpro pt7999 head gaskets. Both gasket have the word front on the gaskets. But when you put them on one side lines and the other gasket does not. But when you flip the gasket that does not line with the word front facing the firewall everything lines up. The gasket has blue striping that faces up. Am I dong something wrong? All the investigation I have done shows there is not a left and right gasket? Any ideas?
I read on the Fel Pro website that the perma torque head gasket can be mounted stripe side up or down. There was no designation on the gasket saying left or right banks. The only designation was front. So I placed the passenger side gasket with the stripe side up and the word front towards the radiator. The driver side I had the non stripped side facing up with the word front facing the radiator and everything lined up. Also for Ford 312 or 292 Fel Pro list 7999 for passenger or truck. I am going to call Fel Pro tomorrow.
