[QUOTE=The Peddler;8294817]I bought a Fel Pro overhaul gasket set for my 1973 360. The head gasket I got is a little different than the original metal one I removed.
No problem. Just make sure that the FRONT marking of the gasket is installed toward the front of the block, or you will have overheating isues.
Thanks! I saw the marks on the gasket for FRONT, and notices how it controls the circulation of coolant, but I really appreciate that warning. This is the first time I've ever torn into an engine this far, so I was a little concerned. I was fairly sure I was ok, but needed some reassurance.

Congrats on your first rebuild! There are lot's of tips that can be given....I'll add this, I know, unsilicited advise, use RTV in all 4 corners of the intake to block surface, not gasket sealant. LOL. I know of several people who have learned that the hard way..including me.
