Why not just get one of these. I wouldn't trust those two cables on the tailgate to hold that type of weight. Especially on a bouncy road.
that’s a wicked setup.....now I’d like to see a video of that rig flying down a bumpy road lol. Seriously though. That’s cool. Also sketchy loading that in the wrong hands lol.
Gramps, I've got a 09 Yamaha Rhino that I load into my bed and travel with. it loads great and travels fine. The front tires slide right between the wheel wells and as long as I strap it down well it doesn't bounce at all. Loading can be sketchy, but I just find a low spot to put the back tires of the pickup into and it makes the approach angle way more manageable.
I haven't experienced any issues with the weight on the tailgate, but as others have stated the load isn't distributed evenly on the side by side (mid-motor), and the tailgate load limits are probably lower than actual for the CYA aspect.
My goodness lots of great responses. Thanks everyone. It certainly looks like it can be done.
I found this while doing a search. Interesting setup
That's an innovative use of the gooseneck hitch. That looks better than any other solution I've seen. I don't see it on their website, other than the video.

This looks like something I could fabricate. Yes I agree it looks like a good solution.
Front track width is right at 52" I believe; just enough to squeeze between the wheel wells. The body itself isn't much wider, but I've never actually measured it.

Thanks for the info. I would like to stay around 50" wide so it can fit between the wheel wells and go through tight trails.

If I recall correctly, the Rhino was one of the slimmest side by sides available. Unless I go to a 4/6 seater, I'll ride this thing til the wheels fall off.

It looks like all the new Yamahas are at least 59" wide. The 2019 Wolverine is 59" wide. It looks like a good side by side. It would fit in the box but you would have to drive over the wheel wells.
I have a Grizzly now so it's got me thinking.
not that I’m referring to this situation but the manual is to protect stupid people from doing stupid stuff. That’s you there are so many videos on YouTube....they didn’t read the manual. Not to mention. If I had a nickel for every time someone asked a question that was in the manual I’d be able to put my grandson through university.
Just my opinion
but in all seriousness I don’t think it’s all lawyers talk.
