EGR delete on a 1999 van ?
Hi guys, I searched a bit but only found this one (https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post18010051) and it's for a newer pickup. So is the blockoff plate on FleaBay.
Has anybody done EGR delete on an older 2-valve V10? The Mythic Dually Church Van (see sig) is throwing EGR codes. I hate throwing good money at bad systems.
I don't want to turn this into a debate on EGR delete, yea/nay plz. My mind is made up. I'd like to spend 5 minutes in the sparring ring with the guy who came up with the idea of putting hot exhaust gases back into the intake tract. Actually, I'd be done in 2 minutes. But I digress...
Thanks!

I'll throw in my $.02 on both sides of the coin:
Pros:
Remove it to simplify things.
Just because the gooberment told me it has to be there.
Not much else.
Cons:
EGR is known to help cruise gas mileage.
EGR helps reduce pinging at light-to-moderate load. Not sure how much that will figure into a '99 non-PI head engine, but I gotta throw it out there.
