oil type
So I'm hoping this isn't to dumb of a question. I'm wondering about motor oil for my 2012 f350. The recommended oil is cj-4 rated which is being phased out but the new ck-4 that is replacing it, ford is recommending to stay away from. Fords new oil is WSS-M2C171-F1 which as far as I can tell can only be purchased at the dealership for now. I work in a parts warehouse and can get liquimoly for a pretty decent price but the rating on it is Ford WSS-M2C 917-A, which as far as I can tell is a European diesel rating that came out in 2012.
My question is can I use this oil in place of the ford WSS-M2C171-F1?

Ford has approved a lot of the CK-4 oils in the recent months. Check this Ford List here to see if your oil is approved
