Ordered the Headman Shorty street headers, the comp cam magnum double roller timing set, and a summit 40 micron 3/8 inline fuel filter. Should be a good filter it uses the sinter bronze style filter that you find on old quadrajunks. Its the only thing I found in 3/8 size for fitting the carb line that looked decent for a driver. Now the carb line I was looking at the truck as I started the truck up to move it more in the drive way and I don't think I can use the metal hard line will have to do some digging and figure out what AN fittings I can get to make up a flex hose from the carb to the fuel filter to the metal hard line. Honestly would have been better to get a AN threaded fuel filter to thread in vs the hose barb.

Going to have to start ordering parts quicker now and not wait on money cause stupid cops marked my tire with chalk today between when I left for work this morning and when I left to go back to work after lunch. Don't see how they can mark my tire with 99% of the truck is parked in the drive way.

The new headers are nice. Cant wait till I decide where to send them off to, to get them ceramic coated. Im leaning towards Finish Line cause they have a stainless ceramic coating that sounds nice but still want to see previews.

The fuel filter looks nice hopefully it will work fine.

The Magnum double roller timing set I looked at it, going to have to take a burr bit two of the openings in the cam gear has a huge flat piece of flash on it that Id be afraid of breaking loose and falling in the engine. Hopefully grinding that off doesn't change the balance as the summit description stated the magnum timing sets are dyanamically balanced.

Was browsing summit on my phone at work since it was dead slow. Came across the following.

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/w...9/applications

Its a Walker direct fit Y pipe listed as fitting '80-'83 Ford trucks. Its $114 for it which is a better price than the jegs $240 off road pipe which comes in 3 pieces. Only draw back is this pipe doesn't come with the pipe to eliminate the converter like I need. But the pipe that comes with the Jegs Offroad pipe has a huge air injection pipe which would have to be patched over or just out right replaced.

So it looks like I will be using this Walker Direct fit pipe instead. Hopefully being one piece it fits properly and doesn't require tweaking to get it to fit the ball flange on the headers.

Only thing now is to do some digging on the parts and illustration guide to see if the pipe between the Y pipe and the muffler is a independent pipe for trucks without converters or if the Y pipe is actually made into it. Diagram makes it look like that pipe is made into it though I hope its not. If not then I might be able to snag that pipe and can use the OEM hanger. Only problem left would be trying to figure out how to make the OEM hanger work with the aftermarket muffler and the tail pipe.
