6.0 missing

05 f250 260,000 187000 on short block. Truck starts fine but shakes at Idol and misses and shakes really bad when cold. Not the normal sitcion issues, gets better once warmed up but it is still there. the only code that I have is u1500 which is bus connection. Both cam and crank have been replaced no other sensors have been replaced. FICM tested out ok. I know I am on borrowed time with injectors but I don't want to replace them and not solve my problem. Any ideas I am a bit stumped no dtc's. Also only smokes first 1 minute of warm up. When it misses no signs of smoke. WOT it does not miss. Also running Hot shot every oil change has been revx for the past 50K.

Could it be the injectors? Mine never smokes whatever I do. What color smoke?

I'd get an IDS (Power Balance) or other cyl contribution device on it to observe ..........................

You may just need to reseal the injectors

The fuel rail orings wear and leak and can produce your symptoms

It' results in a low pressure fuel problem that gets better warm

Check to see if making oil and or smells like diesel fuel

Can you do an injector buzz test and balance test on an app like forscan?

As far as I know only IDS can do and uncompensated power balance. You can do a buzz test with ForScan. If you were closer I have a IDS clone and could run the test for you.

Did a buzz test and found one not buzzing and 3 are weak. i think I found my miss. Thanks for everybody's input. Were is the best place to buy injectors?

With the rebuilt injectors of a stock size by experience I think most everyone here will say to stay with the Motorcraft products, and Auto Nation White Bear has the best price & shipping.

There is a source that has emerged for new injectors, which was briefly discussed either here or another forum, and that is Pure Power Technologies. I've checked this out through some channels and they really were the source for the OE injectors. They are a little more pricey and I've seen them on diesel on-line sources. Some have discounts. As long as they are keeping up their specs, its like 2003 ..... 2007 all over again.

Is the injectors is all I need? Or do I also need any seals or o rings?

Injectors come with the o-rings and copper seals needed. But you should acquire a bore cleaning brush set for the work to insure the cup is clean.

Ok did the buzz test again this morning and the one that was dead now buzzes and a different did not buzz?
