No Start from Fob

What am I doing wrong? All other Fob functions work normally. I click the start button twice and other than a red light on the top of the Fob, I get nothing.

Batteries don't last long on the keyless fob, as it is all ways on. If your truck sat on a lot for several months, that could be the problem.

If you're using the fob, it seems you're talking about the remote start. I learned that if I push lock first, the car will start after hitting the start twice. If I don't hit lock first, it does nothing.

Same thing I said in the other thread.
Lock once, start twice.

The red light tells you it did not start.
A green light flashes when it starts.

Did you ever wonder why Ford has the stop-start function to save gas at traffic signals, but has a remote start so truck can idle with no one even in the vehicle?
While I understand the "reasoning" behind it, it does seem sort of hypocritical to me.

I don't understand why People don't read the owners manul. You might be amazed at what you will learn.

Because the owners manual is a terrible write up. Why do they use a generic manual? With computers they could easily put one in the vehicle, that is specific to that vehicle. Also another gripe I have, is looking up "Oil" it says check "Engine Oil." Why couldn't they just put the page number down? Also that's not where the Oil Minder reset instruction is, that's in another part of the manual. I've gotten to the point, I put color coded tabs in the owners manual. My wife's Monterey, the Oil Minder Instructions are wrong. BTW; if I want to find out how to do something on the Ford Sync, go to YouTube and look for the Ford Logo at the beginning of the tutorial.

If one of your windows is down, even a little bit, remote start doesn't work.

If you have the vehicle with every possible option I guess the owner's manual would be OK. I'd rather just ask my friend Google a lot of times rather than try to navigate my pretty useless, to me, manual. But then, I only barely have a high school education.
