I'll go try clickin lock 3 times, when i hold down lock and unlock, like i said, after a few seconds the 4 ways flash like it wants to do something lol.
Try clicking lock 3 times (horn should sound 3 times)! Delay start . Thats how my remote start works.
What do you mean delay start?
I tried the above instructions from ehow, and i'm surprised something did happen, the locks actuated like the instructions said, but no indication of the motor starting.
I had a car, a long time ago, that had a 2 button remote, and i didnt know it had command start till i was sitting in it one time and the keys were in my pocket and it just started lol, scared the crap out of me lol.
I wonder if this could be also a tuning issue; i remember seeing a thread somewhere that someones commands start quit working after tuning.
Ive had a viper 5902 sitting in box for over a year in my closet yet to be installed....if I find out I already have remote start (factory) im gonna snap! (I have a feeling I dont)
I had the Ford remote start installed at the dealer on my 08. Wasnt a factory option at the time. It came with 2 new remotes and one of the buttons is blue with a key symbol on it. You just hold the button 2 seconds, the horn sounds once, you hear the sound as if the key was turned to the run position (to allow glow plug warm up) and 30 seconds later it starts. No sticker under my hood though.
Its possible there was an aftermarket system installed and the previous owner had it transferred to his new vehicle. That happens a lot. They may have just left the sticker on it.
Is there a little antenna hidden behind your rear view mirror? You can also look for the control module under the dash, most likely near the steering column. No antenna, no module? No remote start.
