I have a kill switch, 8 cameras on my house, a Pit and a .45, seem to work pretty good so far. Plus all my neighbors think I'm crazy so that helps, and word spreads quickly. Especially when they can watch you have a fist fight with a snowblower in the middle of a blizzard.... I won, it has run perfect since that day. The only thing that has ever gone missing on my property was an old yellow toilet seat????? thats a story for another day.....
The remote release hood latch was put in the E series vans well up into the '80s. The cable release is to short but a cable from the same era F series is long enough. It's not a cable with a lock in the t handle like the OE cable you would find in a dent F series or dent bronco so I fashioned a bracket that tucks it up under the dash about where my left knee is, it can't be seen readily. As to a kill switch I put a toggle to ground on the wire coming into the cab for my cheapy tach mounted on the column. Nothing unussual looking at the coil. I bought a club and have used it from time to time. I put one of those cheap all in one unit alarms under the hood that senses the voltage change when the dome light comes on. All together I might have $60.00 in deterents that would slow down the average scum bag. A real car thief is rolling in a roll off wrecker, waiting for your ***** to be pointed in the right direction.......knock in the driver's window, drop iti in neutral as his partner is already on the "in" bottun on the winch and will be gone with your pride and joy before a puddle is left on the ground from his AC condensate drain. That's the world we live in.
