Budget Roof Rack

Of course we know the stockrack isn't worth much. I need a competent rack that will haul canoes. Never more than 100#. I don't need the best but need something functional. Thank you.

You mention budget but didn’t specify how much your budget was ?

Budget

I cannot spend 300$ on up. 150-200 would be ideal, less even better.

If you have access to a welder it should be possible. These connect to your existing rail with the sliding/tapped squares. Can use lighter gauge metal or aluminum as needed.

When I decided to make my racks useful I want them to remain a stock as possible. I ended up building them up off the roof with some flat stock PVC and ordered longer stainless bolts to replace the stock ones. I painted the PVC black and put an innertube under each one to prevent rubbing. It works pretty well, was pretty cheap, I say under $50, and allows me to put my cargo carrier on the roof for trips.
