I blew my engine if you didnt see the other thread. So my new engine is a 93 300 EFI. I stripped all EFI parts off of. Used my original Headers and Intake. Now my bracket for my alternator (EFI Bracket) Will not sit flush. I already picked up a 3g Alternator and took it to get tested. Ready to go for 130 Amp Conversion. But my bracket will not sit flush. As you can see in the picks my headers are in the way by Almost an inch.
What are my options for this? Put 1 inch Spacers all the way down seems reasonable to me. I don' have to cut the aluminum and my alternator wires will be away from heat.....
What was wrong that you are not using the brackets that were on the old motor?
If so you can use the serp belt may want to rethink that. If the 1 belt breaks or say ALT or AC compressor locks up you are stuck on the side of the road waiting for the tow truck.
When you go back to the old brackets make sure you swap out the water pump because the serp belt pump turns backwards from your old one.

Blew the original 78 motor. Swapped in a 93 EFI. Removed all EFI and efi headers. Replaced with my parts because I like them more. My brackets won't line up because they arent the same depth. I have it now. Spaced and cut the aluminum bracket.. I also did a 3g upgrade at the same time. My engine is finally running. Just have to fill the thermactor holes.
This truck isn't my daily either. Its a work horse. I drive it around town for picking up lumber crap like that. If I break down I can get a ride home. I also have a trailer and SUV I can tow it home with. But I shouldnt have a problem with the Serpentine. The entire engine ran on serpentine for years.

In reality this just isn't an issue.

Take a look at the water pump impeller. It won't care which way it spins.
