i got the electrical part working, it has real good spark now. but the pressure only goes up to 25 psi, so i dropped the tank, the only hard part was tanking the plate off the bottom. the outside bolt that is inline with the leaf spring (brilliant move ford) was difficult and rusted and my 1/2 inch breaker bar slipped off and smacked me in the forehead, i sang the praises of ford after a half hour i finally got the tank out, just have to replace one connection, took the pump out and found the rubber hose inside was bad and the float was full of gasoline. new one is coming from car quest for 100 bucks with a lifetime warranty complete. then i need to clean out the tank it has a bit of crude in the well. then we shall see. it sometimes backfires through the throttle body i am thinking a weak battery. all this for a 95 explorer limited for 300 bucks.then we shall see if anything else is wrong.
it is my friends explorer and he sold me his old one that had a problem staying running.i went and looked at it again and there are a few parts missing like the ecm and the ign module and the blower fan and the battery cables and the starter doesn't work plus no battery. also, the bolts that hold these parts down are missing. my ex son-in law has an explorer just like this and he now has a bunch of new parts on his explorer, hmm that's strange, where did he get the money, who knows i am just glad he is gone.
