A little more progress with allot of time . I would also appreciate any input on errors or things that could be done differently as this is my first shot at this type of mod .
I did a great job of making sure I had very little outside body work but not so much on the inside now that the easy part of the chop is done we start making all the little pieces to make everything look right . 1 of 5 pieces needed to make it right on 1 side not going to get into all of the pieces but obviously the door needs to follow a a curve some where close oversight committee
Are you going to put more weld on the joints? On the second last pic I see tacks but then a small gap then more tack then a gap. would be good to fill the joint right across with tacks. Take your time, let it cool then more welding. Hammer and dolly the tacks as well. On the inside afterwards I would smear some seam sealer over the joint to seal it, where ever you will not see the sealer.
Perhaps you know that already though.
not sure, some days I want it gone, others I'd like to keep it as a retirement project, if that ever happens!
Hang on to it Gil. I've been on and off my truck since 1986. Many projects have come and gone. I've had lots of chances to sell it, but I had done so many radical changes, I felt like I would eventually see it through. Since I got it running I've had a blast with it, and it is still not finished. Too much time invested to call it quits.

Yes I should have said it's not finished . But thanks , it never hurts to mention things you see , sometimes even when we know better the excitement of making progress makes us overlook things . There is a ton of welding and grinding left to do on the things I have just done . But as I have a small shop and I still need to work for a living my aim right now is to get this particular part built and tacked so it can be moved out of the way .
EBEAR, That is coming along nicely!!! I am glad you decided to curve the top door corner, looks great. I still need to finish the doors and inside to my chop project at some point, you are giving me hope. Keep up the good work!!!! Can't wait to see some more progress.
So a little update before it gets pushed to the side for awhile . after looking at the pics I realized that the door frame got wider at the bend which seemed to bother me so I used my calipers to scribe it closer to equal much better can't be too far out as my pattern for the drivers side filler fits the passenger side one pass of metal reinforced filler needed to fill the gap after trimming the door more . It's twice as good if you do it twice right ?
