What do you guys think of the Sport mode on the Sport package. I've run it a couple times and it's like having a programmer at the push of a button and really kicks you in the pants! And is it just an option with the ecoboost?
it is not just for ecoboost i have it on my 2018 f150 with a 5.0
On mine its part of the tow / haul button. Press it once for Towing, press it a second time for Sport. Mine has the center console shifter and its on the side of that.
Don’t forget...if you really want to convert your tires to smoke, do a quick double-tap on the traction control button to go into AdvanceTrac Sport Mode. Removes most/all the traction control nannies.
Because i am basically lazy, I will use Tow/haul when climbing the mountain (part of my commute). I like that it generally keeps the transmission in about 1 lower gear. I don't particularly like the aggressive downshifting on the downhill side, so I usually just leave it in drive on the downhill, and lock out the upper gears as I see fit. I will put it in sport mode when getting on the freeway on-ramp and I want to blend as quickly as possible. Otherwise, I will leave it in "D". If I'm bored, I will use "M" and shift with my thumb.
