Everything is worn, cracked and dry. I am browsing RockAuto right now trying to figure out what I have. Here is a crappy pic of what I think I see..
The tie-rod ends actually look ok. Everything else, including body mounts, are trash. Could someone help with any sort of name, part number, link, etc to each thing? I am fairly sure I have the flexomatic rear suspension (has the tab/tongue on the top of the spring that isn't touching... I think it might need a rubber pad). It's a 302 motor I think and a C6 transmission, automatic. It's 4x2 and I think I recall it saying "custom cab" or something on it. It has straight sides. If I can provide any more info let me know! I am buying other stuff from Rock Auto so bonus points if someone points me to the proper items there. I have someone at Prothanesuspensionparts.com also helping get me advice but doesn't hurt to get more!
I see a pitman arm at the steering box. It is connected to the daglink. You X-arms are the I-beams in the twin I-beams. If you have a have a 302 then you have a c4 trans.
I think either both the trans and the engine were replaced at some point. I am fairly sure it is a C6 as we already took it apart once (see another post) and I believe between those parts and rear axle parts (like the paper gasket/seals you need when doing the rear brakes that go between the "cap" and the hub) made it so it had to be a C6, I think... plus my stepdad has some experience in trucks and I believe he also said it was a C6.
If I can identify either for you in some way I am happy to take pics, go out there and look for numbers, or specific markings, etc. I would love to know for sure.
I just looked at pics at https://www.cartechbooks.com/techtip...transmissions/ and it looks like a C6 to me, don't think it can seperate from the bellhousing and the shift linkages are on the driver's side, plug looks to be on the side of the pan. Can you identify the engine by looking?
Thanks! According to the VIN at least it is a 390 with a C6. Definitely a C6 but the previous owner (well, the person selling it for the owner) thought the engine was replaced so I'm not 100% sure that is what is in there. If anyone can confirm or tell me what to easily look for I will.
Otherwise, still would love to know what bushings I need all around, here is what I think I know:
I don't seem to have a "sway bar" at all, so no bushings for that. I think the flexomatic suspension should have some bump stop on it, I think I read. I can't find that at all in any catalog.
The tie rod ends look decent so I think I can leave those.
