I bought a new intelligent access remote from a link I found in another thread to carandtruckremotes.com, but have been sitting on it for a couple weeks reading "everyone" posting how they can't get theirs to program, whether OEM or aftermarket. I tried a couple different procedures including one at the ford owner site without success. I found the below procedure on f150forum by somebody trying to program a third fob for his 2016 F150 Lariat.

1. Put all three by the shift lever in order for easy identification and accessibility.
1.5 Open and shut the door, with the vehicle off to cycle the power

2. Place the first programmed key in the backup position
...3. Press Start\Stop button
...4. Count to three full seconds (one one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand)
...5. Pressed Start\Stop button

6. Swap first programmed key with second programmed key (quickly, no more than 3-4 seconds)
...7. Press Start\Stop button
...8. Count to three full seconds
...9 Press Start/Stop button

10. Swap second programmed key with the un-programmed key (quickly)
...11. Press Start\Stop button
...12. Door locks will cycle and dashboard will light up if successful

13. Press one of the newly programmed remote keys (locks/trunk/tailgate) to verify operation

These steps worked for me on the first try on my 2019.

I will also say that my 2 original fobs both have key rings and keys attached as well as silicone covers that don't allow them to fit properly into the programming cutout in the console. All of those things seem to be bad based off of other threads I have read but were no issue for me. I have not cut the key blade for the new fob yet either. I doubt it matters but both my original fobs are "admin" keys as well.

Hope this help someone.

Aaron

On the older keys, you turned the key switch OFF on the 3rd (new) key at the END of the process.
NOT attempting to start.

im thinking I went thru the message center in dash when I programmed my 3rd key on my 2016 F350.
