I have been to my dealer four times before this for the same series of problems.2016 F350 bought new at the dealer. GPS has quit working multiple times, doesn't recognize the SD card. Sound system, main screen, backup camera functions have all quit or experienced recurring problems. Problems started a couple months after purchase they reset, replaced and updated but there's always something. Only thing that hasn't screwed up is the phone. may take it to town and leave the keys it for an hour or two, it'll end up in Mexico and let someone else have the problem

The APIM isn't the only factor here.
In a 2016 the GPS module is separate and sits on CAN-not a "dumb" antenna like sync3. If you're having detailed problems, write them out and tell us what was tried, what worked, and what didn't. Also tell us what kind of phone you have.
