TSB reports
What exactly are TSB's used for? How can they be used to benifit me? I realize they may point me in a specific direction as far as problems, but can they be used as leverage in getting Ford to correct a problem?

Tsbs are used mostly by to techs to pinpoint a common problem and reduce dianosis time. As far as using them to leverage ford in to fixing problems yes and no. It would not hurt to mention a specific tsb number when bring in your vehicle. But it is still up to the tech to determine if the tsb applies. For example I have had cust request that i do a certian tsb. Problems is his truck was built after a certian date and the tsb did not apply. If i had done the tsb ford would have rejected the warrenty claim. Remember a TSB is different then a Recall. If you are out of warrenty you will have to pay for any work performed by a tsb. A recall is free of charge no matter what.
