Either way, I can see why people tell me it is far more cost effective to do an axle swap rather than change diff ratios. BUT I will still get some prices for crown, pinion and carrier. The downfall will be the cost of shipping and taxes to UK. I will let you know what I find tomorrow.
OK
, been under the truck doing some investigating. Here is a photo of the text in the area circled in the earlier post. Above that their are some numbers 18419. Also I marked one wheel with tape and also marked the propshaft UJ and diff casing. Spinning one rear wheel one complete turn makes the propshaft turn just shy of two complete turns. What does that tell us ?.

With one wheel on the ground and the other jacked up, rotate the wheel 2 revolutions. Count the number of revolutions at the driveshaft. You’ll get about 4 1/4 turns on the driveshaft with a 4.27 rear. I have a 4.27 in mine right now, I do a little drag racing. Dennis

This morning I tested with both wheels off the ground. When I turned one wheel, the other did not turn. This makes it a posi/lsd ?. On the article I read if this is correct....it said to test with both wheels free. Anyone else confirm the test please.

I doubt that you would have a Dana 44 limited slip. That would be rare. Just for giggles, try it my way. Dennis

Same result with one wheel on ground. Two revolutions of road wheel turns propshaft just shy of four revolutions. So as Blue Oval Rage stated earlier, I guess that makes it a 3.92:1 ratio diff.
