been looking around and thinking about going with the SCREW, 145" WB XLT pkg 302A.
I like the max tow package, and if my math is correct the max tow packs is $1295, where if you buy the options separately they tally up to 2285 (tow pkg, 36 gal, 3.55 elocker, brake controller).
Most of the vehicles I see on lots has the options separate. I know you can only get max to with the 3.5 Eco.
Am I missing somethinf here?
Is there a way to search for trucks that have Max tow other than having the dealer run it through their system?
I Know one thing the Max Tow comes with allot of What you want for Towing,Yes allot of things are Options now
You have to get them in Groups, Make sure you have the ITBC, Trans Oil Cooler the 3.73 Electronic Locker Rear end, the Pro Trailer Back Up Assist and the 36 Gallon Tank and it comes with Beefier Leaf Springs
and Anti Sway Bars.
The only way to get 3.73s with a 3.5 EB is to get the Heavy Duty Payload Pkg. Max Tow Pkg trucks are hard to find in dealer stock. You’ll have to go to individual dealer websites, find the trucks you like, then look at the window stickers on them, if their site allows that.
Ford in Canfield Ohio had some max tow on the lot a month ago, without the tow mirrors. I ended up buying mine I Zelienople as I’m from Pa and didn’t want to deal with state inspection.
They probably still have some max tow in Zelienople Pa also.
I purchased mine from autonation, it is a pain searching but they are out there. Searching in inventory on fords website after building it the way you want may work for you. What part of the country are you in?
Max Tow equipped trucks are actually very plentiful on the west coast. I will point out however that to truly get the highest tow rating you also need the 157wb which has the heavy frame, this gets you the 18,400 GCWR. The key points of the max tow are the upgraded radiator, higher wattage cooling fans, 36 gallon tank, 3.55 e-locker, PTBA, ITBC and heavier front seat bar. The upgraded rear springs are computer selected and based on options selected and not automatic to the build except on the 157wb trucks. Also there is no additional transmission cooler included for the 10 speed trucks. Ford did away with that and all trucks with the 10 speed regardless of options have only 1 cooler mounted below the truck and it's a plate style liquid heat exchanger.

Start building a truck on the Ford.com website and use the chat app when it pops up. Ask them to locate a truck similar to what you want with max tow near you....
I’m interested in the max tow mainly as it’s a good deal to get the tow package, trailer brakes, 36 gal and locker. Getting the 13k tow rating itself is not that critical. I do want to be in the 12k area.
Im in North East Ohio. Seems like very few are on the lots around here. Thanks for the suggestion to look at Zenienople, PA. Looks like they have 3-4 on the lot.
Any my other suggestions for dealers that typically stock max tow and are friendly to work with. I have no problem buying over the internet.

Don't bank on pulling 12k even with Max tow. For the truck you want it it will be right around 5450lbs give or take certain options. You will also get the 7,050 GVWR package and 18,100 GCWR. Subtract the curb weight of 5,450 lbs from 18,100 lbs and you get 12,650 lbs. Factor in 10 percent for hitch weight 1,265 lbs, which now leaves you with only enough payload for 335lbs! That's not enough capacity for one man and a full tank of fuel let alone a family and supplies. Realistically you are somewhere around 8500 lbs towing capacity with the available payload rating.
I can for certain tell you that you will exceed payload unless you are driving solo and not carrying anything. Before you ever are able to get to the magical number Ford states in the order guide.
Max tow with 20s(12700 tow rating per tow guide) 1787 payload l, 13200lbs on hitch sticker , frame pn sticker says hpp. This trailer is 7500 tons of crap in the pass thru. It holds it up well without wdh hooked up. I will never tow 12000 with it but the pkg is nice to have.
Also when you get the heavy payload for the 3.73 gears it takes out the 502A pcakage and puts you down to the 500A. I just wanted the 3.73 gears on my 5.0 and it knocked out my 501A package.
