My mirror is full of goo. (No, not that kind you sicko.)
I want to replace it. I've seen some of teh newer F150s and SuperDuty trucks that have a 3" LCD embedded in the mirror such that it comes on when you hit reverse.
Anyone ever install one of these bad boys?
I installed a TadiBrothers rearview mirror in the '01 Ex with embedded LCD. I use it for the camera on the back of the enclosed car trailer. Installed the wireless receiver above the upper console.
I just replaced as mine was milky and did not auto dim properly anymore. All Excursion specific mirrors were around $200 so I chose the Explorer/Mountaineer mirror from fleabay.
I don't need any auto dimming. I've got enough tint on my rear windows and tailgate.
I wanted the LCD screen for a reverse camera to help line up trailer hitches and whatnot.
Looks good.
Have a link to what you purchased?
Can you adjust and/or remove the red/yellow/green guide lines on the screen?
I don’t have a link, but have all my parts and mods listed in the first post:

-Installed back up camera and mirror (Gentex Rearview Camera Display Mirror 50-GENK332s, Autoanything $297.14) + (BOYO License Plate Camera VTL300CL, Amazon $83.49)

-Installed mirror wire cover (Gentex 50-9010227001M Long Black Wire Cover, $14.99 Amazon)
You can turn off the guidelines. They aren’t as useful as in a new car where they are tied into the steering. These ones just stay straight. It is useful to figure out where the rear bumper is though.
Gotcha, you're one of those people that edits the first post. (I'm not used to that because a lot of forums that I'm on cut off editing after about 30 mins.
Gentex is the OEM for Ford.
Between Gentex and Donnelly, they make most of the world's rear view mirrors.

This forum gives you 30 days to edit a post. If I need to edit a post past 30 days, I contact a moderator and they edit the post for me. That resets the 30 day clock on that post and I can make more edits.
