Rear view mirror

I need help removing the rear view mirror from a 1999 F-150. I seperately purchased a Gentex NVS Compass Mirror, which seems simple enough to install, but I can't figure out how to get the damn OE mirror off the windshield mount. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Rear view mirror

All you have to do is grab the mirror and roll it down toward the dash. To replace it, all you have to do is straighten it back out and slide it on.

Pleased to see your message. Assume you got NVS installed by now. I am interested in same mirror. Would really like to know if install was as easy as it sounds and if you were able to buy mirror at a discount somwhere. Very much appreciate any help you can provide.
