Should I be concerned that my 19’ build received the Job 1status?
Dealer said my order was their first order for a 19’.
I’ve read on forums where Job 1 potentially could have early build / quality issues, BUT since no real changes are being made to 2019 SD, any worries that mine may be one of the first builds for 2019 MY?
Is there any reason that I should ask dealer to change this to Job 2, for a delivery later in the year? Please advise, this is my first Ford purchase. Thanks
Job 1 is all that can be ordered right now. There won't be a job 2 unless Ford decides to change the build in some way (change out parts, mid-year model changes, etc). Given the stability of 2018 the small changes in the 2019s, nothing to worry about here.
I have a 2019 F450 ordered and the DORA shows job 1 priority 10 also.
Job numbers start over every model year. A new job # is given when there is a major change in the middle of a model year. That being said, there haven't been any major changes since the Job 3 2017s. A Job 1 2019 is basically the same as a Job 3 2017. Nothing to worry about. Enjoy the new truck & have fun.

What date was job 3 on the 2017's? Mine is an October build so pretty late in the 2017 cycle. Thanks
EDIT: Also did anyone ever find out the differences?

Not sure of the exact date, but mine is an early October 2017 & it was a job 3, so yours should be a job 3 as well. Some on here will argue that there was no job 3 in 2017, but it was clearly printed on the invoice, from Ford, for mine that it was, in fact, a job 3.
Every year production is broken down into three "job" numbers. Durning changeovers there are improvements, additional features added, and sometimes features removed. The order guide that is released before each job will indicate the changes. Job 1 is only a potential for concern the first year after a redesign like 2017. However, even the 2017 Job 1 trucks were without any really super common issues. At this point after the redesign, job number means nothing. As to priority 10, that's the best (read fastest) retail build priority that can be assigned. 1-9 are for regional reps etc. to put out a fire after an issue with a customer. 10-19 are retail sold. 20-29 are dealer stock. Also note that once your truck is scheduled for production it will likely go from a 10 to a 1 code.
Does anybody know what changes were made between the job 2 and job 3 2017? I was just curious, my king ranch is an August build, so probably job 2. I don't have any idea where to find the job number in the paperwork.
