The bed bolts are torque to yield bolts. By design, they will never be as strong as when they were initially installed.

Here is a 2007 with a 2014 bed, bed swaps are quite common here in eastern Canada due to rot. Mine was a well looked after truck but the bed was shot, not worth even attempting to fix . Beds here run about $2grand to $2500 . I managed to score this one at my ford dealer for $700 bucks with some very minor damage . Bolts here do not come out either, they get drilled or cut after only a couple years.

Does your truck have the Ford fender flares? If yes did you have any problems putting the rear ones back on?
