i have a 2004 ranger edge supercab and i dont want to lose the back seats so im really wondering where to put the system. im thinkin the best bet is in the bed and was wondering if ne 1 has installed somthing similar and has pictures or any info.
well i dont have expierence with it but i know someone that has put a system in the bed of there truck. the first thing is that u should have a conopy if u dont have one of them then i wouldnt suggest doing it.
there also is another way ha i now of alot of the lowrider truck people do it is u make a box out of metal and u weld it to ur bed and just make sure there is no leaks or anything alon those lines.
For a minute there I thought some one put a system in there real bed.....lol
There are ways to make small boxes fit with out having to go the route your talking about. There are alot of people here with rangers........ come on tempe and luvdeftonz....... that can help you figure a way to get subs in your truck and keep your seats.
the deal on what im getting is unreal and i need to make up mi mind soon before he gets choked that im taking to long to make the call.
2 twelve inch kickers w/ a box and a 1200 watt amp for 450.

(its all canadian currency by the way)
ne help with either of my questions is greatly wanted/appreciated
First of all...don't get too eager about the deal this guys offering you. The world is *filled* with cheap used audio equipment...another deal will come along if this one gets past you.
As far as putting equipment in the bed...I'm assuming you don't have a top over the bed...is this correct? If so, you'll have a *lot* of work to do to keep the electronics protected. You'll need a waterproof box (and you'll still need to put dessicants in from time to time as moisture does collect in boxes), waterproof wiring, and I can't imagine what you'd do to protect the subs and still hear them.
You don't need huge equipment for a Ranger...it's a small cabin. Look at stealth boxes for a sub (and one good sub is plenty) and amps with smaller form factors. It will be a more professional installation and you'll thank yourself for it in the long run.
OK...I'm not sure I know what a low rider tonneau cover is, but hazarding a guess, it's not going to be enough all by itself. It's not enough to keep the rain off the equipment. You need to try to prevent excessive humidity from penetrating the electronics. Heat and (in extreme cases) cold can be enemies of amps and especially subwoofers.
Consider a smaller Husky box and find a way to dessicate it. Use weatherproof grommets the kind that screw together) to pass the wires through it.
You may want to mount equipment using rubber bushings to reduce vibration. And IMO it's still best to find a place inside for a sub, even if that means going with something a little smaller than you were originally hoping for.
if ur gunna do a full blow through ur gunna need some kind of boot to run from the cab to the bed. i have seen a few people run a speaker box into the bed and make a metal shell around it.
