What's so hard to believe about a cab gutter leaking. They're notorious for the seam sealer drying out and letting water in. Seen it on two of our three trucks, and just waiting for the shoe to drop on the third one.

Trim tool. Harbor Freight has a whole kit including that ^^^^^ one, for less than $10 IIRC.

My point exactly.
My "don't bet on it" was in reference to it "being another battle" because it could be the current battle he is suffering.
Often times the water is getting in where you least suspect it.
OP should figure out WHAT is leaking before replacing the windshield with the assumption that it is the problem.

I made something similar out of a robust piece of sheet metal.

Yeah, you can get that tool from harbor freight or any Auto body supply shop should be able to get you one. If I were you, Id pull the headliner, and check around just to be safe, and avoid being a parts changer.

On one of my Fords, the roof gutter was leaking and it was coming out about 4 inches down on the side of the windshield.
Even with close examination, it looked like the windshield was leaking,, but reality of it was water was traveling down the pinch weld on the A pillar.

While I sincerely appreciate all the ideas, water is dripping from the very top of the windshield down onto the rear view mirror and also conveniently directly into the steering column’s key hole. I seriously don’t know how this could be a gutter leak. Unless the law of gravity has been repealed lately, the windshield is leaking. An extra bit of rubber door gasket fell off while I was taking the visor off. This will need to be replaced. This is below the gutter and is a problem that just showed up and has no baring on the current leak.

I currently have a sheet of plastic over the dashboard. If this is a gutter leak then I need to start buying lotto tickets.

I just want to reiterate. This is not some water leak I can’t find. This is a water leak that requires me to cover the steering column and have a spare towel to dry my legs, face, and dash when it rains. The visor has been removed and it’s holes have been sealed. The windshield is leaking.

Well, only YOU can determine where it is leaking. We're too fdar away.
This is the first I have seen where you are more specific on WHERE it is leaking.

You have all ready stated that 2 glass companies have told you that it IS NOT the windshield.

Have you tried the soapy water and air hose yet?

my only point is everyone that has looked at my truck has told me it’s not the windshield. After reviewing the thread you have convinced me to try the soapy water approach. I’m pretty convinced it’s the windshield after removing the visor as a possible source of the leak. Everyone told me it was the visor. It’s not the visor.

I’ve been trying to make some headway on my two current truck problems and neither can get my full attention. The leak problem is the most difficult and the most pressing. I’m going to take your soapy water advice. I’m not sure I can pull it off, but It can still theoretically work even in the rain.

A heavy rain will dilute the soap too much and not work.
A light rain may be okay but doing it when dry would be the best.

Did you figure out how to get your w/s trim off?
