I did the SD electric vacuum pump because I went Hydro brakes and did not want to run the factory pump. I had some vacuum leaks that made the pump run a lot and was loud. I picked up a Bosh pump from a volvo on ebay for less than I paid for the sd pump. It came with the mounting bracket and the power connector. The Bosh pump almost never has to run and when it does it is quiet.
^^^^^ Correct; and if Ford had not insisted on retaining such Cold War era HVAC technology for so long, we could completely eliminate anything vacuum-related with a hydroboost upgrade.
Personally just removing the pump could change the belt dynamic I would think. Which might cause some untold strain on the accessories, even with a dual tensioner. Wasn't the consensus a bypass pulley would have to be fabricated somehow?
