Without Forscan will it shows when regen occurs? Got about 10000km 0r 600iles if you prefer on it and def gauge still shows full and never saw regen notification in my dash
the dash will NOT notify you of a REGEN activation.
you must use a 3rd party software or monitor to know when a REGEN is activated
I'm gonna' throw a stick in the spokes with this post. I was in the middle of a regen in city traffic when I stopped at my dealer to pick up some parts. Parked it and shut off the engine while the DPF% screen was reading about 65% full (don't recall the exact readout). Ten or Fifteen minutes later, I get back in the truck, start it up to drive ~4 miles home, and the regen continued ... dropped another 15% in those 4 miles to around 50% full. Surprised me when I saw the regen continue. I have not duplicated that situation nor have I tried to.
I have seen DPF % of Filter full (continue to) decline even after the REGEN is deactivated.
ReGen ACTIVATED - 100% Filter full, Mileage since last activation 158 miles (around town (heavy footed) driving
Here you can see the ReGen is complete - but still reports 38% filter full....while the DASH reports 20% full.
2.4 miles later (since last ReGen) you can see % of filter full has continued to decline (even though ReGEN is not activated)....
Dash reports 0% full while ForScan Lite on my iPhone shows 24%
If you look at my Average Milage between ReGen (DPF_Regen_A) you'll see its FALLING.....from 222.5 to 201.3
I was under the impression you had to stay above 35mph for the regen to continue. Otherwise it can get too hot. I thought that was in the manual....maybe it was just here on the forums that I read that.

I've had ReGens continue in my driveway - in park....In fact my very 1st ReGen (continued) and completed in the driveway.
The way I understand it, the hotter the cycle gets – the more efficient the burn is. Naturally, when the truck is sitting still, the exhaust temperature increases because there is no ambient airflow around the truck. When driving, especially at highway speed‘s, a regen cycle May take 25 to 30 minutes because the exhaust temperature will hover between 1000 and 1100°F. When sitting still, in drive or in park, the exhaust temperature should reach between 1300 and 1350°F which should burn the soot at a faster rate. As long as the truck is running, the cycle will start and stop based on the computers settings and monitors. My DPF% hardly ever reaches zero and right now, my distance between regens is around 260 miles - lots of hiway driving. The Edge CTS2 monitors all this, tells when the cycle begins and shows 5 or 6 temps on the exhaust. All that being said, just drive it and let the computer do it’s job. The emissions systems on this truck are pretty rocksolid.
