Regens/Filter % Full

So my truck just "finished" it's 4th regen in 1700 miles. I've noticed the regen cleaning, as far as % full, has increased with each process. The 1st regen stopped at 0% full, 2nd regen stopped at 20% full, 3rd regen stopped at 25% full and this last regen stopped at 40% full on the filter status. All the regens have been highway miles.

Anybody else experience this issues. Should I be concerned that the DFP is not getting 100% cleaned?

It stopped the regen at 20, 25 and 40 in the middle of the regen while driving?

Regen stops when you put it in park or shut down.

Mine always goes to 0% unless I shut it off before it's done.

Even if you just stop the truck and the exhaust temps cool to much it will stop the then. This is not an issue in my opinion. Unless your getting codes or warnings on your screen saying drive to complete cleaning cycle, I wouldn’t worry about it. There are times when I do short trips when a regen will only reduce to 80%, there will be other times in stop and go traffic and parking it when it will get further down. Then it starts the process all over again.

what are you using to monitor the region?

watching the %full in the dash cluster is not a good indicator when the re-gen will occur...its a Miles covered since last ReGen OR % full.
I've seen regeneration occur w/ as little as 35% full, with 487 miles since last region

FWIW fords strategy on the REGEN is such that it will perform a REGEN every 500 miles - needed or not....
If you want to know when a Regen is occurring - use a monitor like ForScan Lite and watch these indicators

Ok good to know. I did have a few stops having to pull off the highway that probably cooled the exhaust temps.

Just reading the dash cluster to monitor the regens for now. Looking to pick up a CTS2 soon.

Mine has NEVER stopped a regen, regardless of speed or even if I'm stopped, as long as I don't take it out of drive.

I'm gonna' throw a stick in the spokes with this post. I was in the middle of a regen in city traffic when I stopped at my dealer to pick up some parts. Parked it and shut off the engine while the DPF% screen was reading about 65% full (don't recall the exact readout). Ten or Fifteen minutes later, I get back in the truck, start it up to drive ~4 miles home, and the regen continued ... dropped another 15% in those 4 miles to around 50% full. Surprised me when I saw the regen continue. I have not duplicated that situation nor have I tried to.

DOF regen uses fuel, not DEF, when it’s cold, when DPF gets to 100% Soot or 500 miles since last regen, it uses extra diesel fuel to burn off the DPF. When towing, high heat, the DEF is injected, to reduce NOx emissions, this does not affect the %Soot of the DPF, however, I have noticed when pulling hard, high heat I do use a ton of DEF and the %Soot never hits higher percentages, but it still does do the regens just perhaps goes the full 500 miles or so between them.
