351m transfer case

So I have 62 scout 80. I’m putting a 351m with a c6 tranny in it. I need a transfer case . I’m very new to this as this is my first build. I keep reading that there is passenger and driver side drops. Can someone explain to me the difference ? Does it matter which one I get ? I tried google search and other forum search but I think my keywords are wrong.

That's probably which side the driveshaft for the front axle comes out on. It's offset to one side or the other.
