Headlight Issue

I have a 2003 XLT with the AUTO light option. When the truck is on and on the AUTO position the lights are always on. If I have the truck on and the headlight switch is on OFF or Parking Lights they headlights will literally flicker on and off randomly. If the light switch is on the ON position the headlights will turn on and stay on but there is a clicking inside of the dash of the truck. I have traced some of the wires and I've also checked all the fuses that would pertain to this issue.

Unplug the autolamp sensor. If the problem stops the sensor is bad. If the problem continues the headlight switch is bad.
