Helppp

Driving myself crazy with this. About a week ago, truck stalled for a second or two going down the highway. Pulled off, didn’t notice anything so hopped back on the highway and had no issues. Went to dinner later, no issues, left to head home and truck stalled again, and again, then died. Would crank but not start, then sometimes it would start and run for 10-15 seconds then cut off. If it was running and revved to 2k rpm it would cut off. Replaced the ICP, no fix. Bought a Scangauge and noticed the IPR values were pretty high while cranking so tried that next. Got the valve out and the screen was lodged in the HPOP but I was able to fish it out. Replaced with the new one and truck started but then cut off. Tried again and same thing. Now I’m getting all 0’s on FICM Sync, logic, power on the Scangauge. I tested the screw on the ficm board and got 48v. Batteries are testing low now (11.3v) and truck doesn’t seem to want to do anything now. Did I fry my FICM by cranking too much and not keeping the batteries charged? I’ve checked the ficm connections 4 times and they are good. 10amp dude is good, relay seems good (it clicks when I test it). What am I missing? Almost at the point of towing it to a shop but would prefer not to, any help is appreciated!

Would like to add, has not thrown any codes this whole time. At least none that the Scangauge or sct would read.

Thanks for the referral!

Before we jump to FICM, though, can you see if you have Sync on your ScanGauge?

Yes I’m getting nothing on the scan gauge.

I was getting 48v on the ficm itself. Had a trickle charger hooked up on the batteries overnight.

Is is it possible for the FICM to completely die that quick or is it more likely that I am dealing with a connection issue somewhere?

Popped the ficm back open this morning. Started at 52v then constantly dropped down by .1v increments to below 46 then down into the 30’s.

Yeah, that doesn’t sound awesome at all. A FICM seems to be in order, sadly.

The FICM power relay can also be the culprit. Mine would stumple at highway speeds, occasional crank no start.
I could turn key to run (not crank) and watch ficm voltages all drop toward zero.
Cheap relay at local Ford dealer.

Misky - I pulled it yesterday and put 12 v to it and it clicks. Is that not a definitive test?
