So I get into the truck, hit the start stop button and the truck starts up fine. I notice I have no gauges, hvac, radio, power windows, blinkers or lights on any buttons. Turn truck off and restart, same thing. Truck went into drive and ran/shifted perfect. About a mile down the road all everything turned back on. Wrench symbol appreared and said to check manual. Got it home and shut it off. Turned it back on and everything works perfect, wrench symbol went away. Anyone have anything like his happen?
Some trucks have been having problems with water intrusion in the rear wiring harnesses. They all seem to act a little different when this happens. Not saying this is your issue , but something to look at...
I had a weird incident when picking my truck from the dealer after a paint repair. I got in it, with one of the service techs to test drive it for a tire issue, and started it. The display was blank, the automatic climate control was on, a/c on, temperature all the way to full hot. We could not turn down the temperature down, we could turn off the a/c but all other lights and switches work, except sync voice command.
After the test drive, I turned off the truck and then back on. No change on the display. The tech said to let the truck off for a minute then start it. I did and the display started working again.
He took in into a bay, connected it to his laptop, and found no issues.
I’ve seen some wired stuff with my fusion hybrid like this. They usually only happen once, for me anyway. It’s almost like the computer code has to have a glitch before it run normally. For me these are listed as a Could Not Duplicate (CND) malfunction. Hard to troubleshoot unless you are looking at the code when it happens. They appear, to me anyway, to be an incomplete boot cycle.
I program PLCs and can usually isolate these type of issues. But not having access to the base code or having the ability to monitor it while it’s running limits what we can troubleshoot.
I had the issue where hvac was cuttting out with my plow on. Dealer performed tsp and reprogrammed everything allready. Hoping it was just a fluke thing
