Dually valve stem orientation

The valve stems on my rear wheels are lined up with each other. I grew up understanding that valve stems on dual rear wheels should be 180 degrees from each other.
First, I'd like to get an idea if Ford is sending them all out like mine (lined up together) or if it is more hit or miss.
How where yours oriented at delivery?
Did you change the orientation?
Have you see anything to indicate they should be 180* apart?

TIA

Logic tells me to place them opposite for easier balance. Using Centramatic balancers now and makes no difference. But with a 450, little harder to line the stems up with the small holes.

Mine are lined up as well. Sucks that the outer wheel valve stem is turned inwards. Made it harder to mount my after market TPMS.
No OEM for F450s.

Mine were lined up. I rotated to make it easier air up/down. Then took the truck in for a balance and dealer lined them up again. lol Now i get to fight with the damn covers again.

I wonder what the logic behind lining them up is...

If the truck has a 5 slot wheel and 8 lugs you have to line them up. Putting them 180 out makes the inner stem inaccessible. If the wheels have an even # of slots, then you can. On a truck with 10 lugs and 5 slots you can at least stagger them and still have the slots line up. Having the stems in the same hole makes it harder to get your hand past the outer stem when accessing the inner.

Not true, no you cant 180 them. But still can stagger them enough to make it work.

klbrown,
You can easily rotate the outer stem to point upward/outward to mount a sensor--just air down, loosen nut, rotate to where you can add the sensor and retighten/air back up.

A dually air gauge is designed for easier use when the valves face each other. The angled head with ports on both sides mean you only need to stick it through the outer hole if the valves are aligned. I've had one of these since my first dually in 96.
