Hood Latch Release

I was test running after some mods and went to open the hood and the cable broke under the hood. How do I release the latch ftom the outside? I have been searching for answers since 2pm and nothing helpful. I have tried long acrewdrivers etc and nothing release it so I can get her open! I already ordered a new cable assembly.

According to Jimmy Jammer, they have it figured out with a screwdriver, and just 5 min. I guess you need to target the lower latch body with the screw driver.

I got it, I couldn’t see the forest for the trees! I just unbolted it with a long swivel extension and 8mm socket.
Thanks guys, maybe someone can learn from this through a search.

Looks like any crook with a long extension can zip their Jimmy Jammer off since the bolt heads are still exposed.

I guess if their product really worked, you'd still be looking for a way in.

I’ve seen “Jimmy Jammers” in people’s signatures for years and never really knew what they were and never thought to look them up. I figured it was a plate that covered the door lock mechanisms so people couldn’t break in and drive off with your truck.

That's exactly what they are. I'm not familiar with the hood latch ones.

When I saw their website earlier and noticed the bolt heads exposed this is what I thought of right away...

After experiencing a recent issue with someone trying to pry into my drivers door lock, I added the plates to the back of all 4 door handles, although it won't completely stop a break-in through the handle, it is obvious that it really helps to block access to the linkage at least.
