My 2019 Ford F150 is at Bill Brant ford fro the same issues you have. They told me that my truck is a One off and they haven't had to deal with the clunks lol I was like there hasn't been anyone in here with letting off the gas and pushing back on it and it slams or clunks into gear?? This is the 5th time in there. they even said it could be the way i am driving it and could be normal. I was like oh no buddy no new car or truck should clunk in gear!
its a 2019 F-150 4X4 3.5 eco with 25k miles and my dash is also looks like a dirt bike track its all wavy. were you dealing with Danial Brant?

No I avoid Bill Brandt like the plague. Seriously worst service ever from them. I suggest calling customer service and opening a claim and get a number. I use Big Valley Ford or Livermore Ford.

I have opened a case this has been the 5th time in the shop I took my truck to big valley ford and they told me since i already took my truck to them for the issue i had to bring it back to them. I bet today they are going to tell me that they didn't find anything wrong with it to pick it up. they told me iof they cant find anything wrong they will have to have someone from form come out to asses it. I am driving a King Ranch as my rental truck it does the clunking too but its hardly noticeable and it shifts way smoother then mine does mine is all over the map ! it feels like it cant ever pick a gear and you feel it shift not smooth at all. what ever happened with your truck?
Mine was torn apart by big valley ford and never assembled right. The transmission overheated due to slipping and puked fluid on hwy 17. I was successful in getting them to buy that truck back easily.
If your truck doesn't have any other issues besides the clunk I would suggest two things. They need to reset the transmission adaptive learning and erase all learned functions. Do you frequently use other drive modes?
Yes I do use the tow mode often and eco to. I drive a lot and it’s driving me nuts !!!!
Okay those modes shouldn't be an issue. Sport mode does have an aggressive effect on the adaptive learning tables. Do you have access to Forscan? You can clear both yourself and the truck will learn a new driving style. I delete mine when it acts up and it's good for another 20k. The adaptive learning is terrible and after speaking with 3 custom tuners it was agreed that the adaptive learning wasn't actually intuitive enough to make good decisions. The base programming is actually very smooth and consistent. I wish you could turn off the adaptive learning.
I don't have access to the scanner. they have flashed my truck 3 times and there is no difference. I am sitting here waiting for them to call me and tell me to pick up my truck again that they didn't find anything lol We will see what happens its been in the shop for a week this time i am almost at 30 total days in the shop.
Truck has been at dealer two weeks they changed the transfer case out said that’s the issue. I guess we will see ! I will let you all know what happens on my drive home !
Just picked it up drove home and slam! Clunking again. I pulled my jets skis from the water and clunking on ramp clunking driving only 1/2 mile from launch to house! As soon as I lift of the gas and push back on gas clunk I am done ✅ back to ford Monday ...

Can you share Ford corporate contact information? My 2018 f150 has been at the dealership since December 12th with transmission issues. It started out with the clunk on reacceleration & after a reflash, the service writer now tells me that when placed in drive it will hesitate for up to 10 seconds before it clangs into gear!!
So after they replaced my transfer case it didn’t fix any issue! I called them and said once I get in town I will drop it off on today. I pull up they come outside and tell me they will not work on my truck ! Said we can’t find the issue to go to another dealer !! He said ford will take care of you since you still have a warranty ! But we can’t find it maybe someone else can . Bill brant ford in Brentwood will no longer get my service ever !
Disappointing, but not surprising. Sounds like they were in over their heads and didn’t know what they were doing. You’re better off with a dealer that has s a competent service department.

Easier said then done here. They are all terrible near me and the good ones will not do light trucks. Go figure I am Ford trained for service and have my own copy of IDS but unless I want to shell out money for my own repairs I have to go to a dealership. The dealerships do have some great techs but the great techs are always on paid jobs and they leave the warranty work for the lower tier guys. My least favorite is when you call the hotline and someone reads you a repair script, mostly it's also a person that has never seen a wrench. They are just accessing notes from the Ford service content website.
