Been looking at installing either a Transfer Flow or Titan Tank. For grins and giggles I figured I'd contact my dealership to get a quote. They send me a quote on the Transfer Flow 60 Gal because "his supplier highly recommends it."
3282 installed plus tax. So, figure 1500 for the tank, even add the 200 for the spray liner, we're talking 1582 for install? I'm incredulous.
Does this seem inline with anyone who did an install and paid someone to do it?
I was only really thinking about the dealer doing the work because I'm having multiple communication errors for sensors on the truck and figured I could kill two birds with one visit (if you will), but seriously...
That seems ridiculous. I installed my Titan tank on a shop floor in under 5 hours. With a proper lift, it would have gone much faster. Even going with a 5 hour install and $100 hourly rate, I can't see how they could quote much more than $500 in labor/shop time.
I am in Reno, NV, a few hours drive from Chico.
A local shop quoted me $550 for install and $175 freight.
I think I will drive to Chico and visit some friends during the trip.
Cheers,

I had a very good experience having my tank installed at Transfer Flow in Chico. Here is a link to a thread I posted... Transfer Flow 60 Gallon
I just paid $2390 to have the coated Tranfer Flow tank installed on my truck from my Ford dealer and they did a nice job. Perhaps you should look for another shop that will do it for a reasonable price.
$405 shop charge
$1666 for the spray coated tank
$185 freight
$134 sales tax
Good thought. Each person has certain needs.
In my current 2005 GMC I have a gravity fed auxiliary tank. Worked great!! I towed a fifth wheel toy hauler, so the motorcycle was in the trailer.
I am restructuring what I tow and how I carry a motorcycle. I now have a new Arctic Fox bumper pull trailer. I will get a motorcycle loader, operated by winch, for the bed of the truck. I won;t have room for a tank in the bed of the truck.
The new truck, F250 CC SB 6.7l is still in order processing. See my posts in the thread on time from order to delivery
