Titian vs. Transfer Flow Replacement Fuel Tanks?

Titian vs. Transfer Flow Replacement Fuel Tanks?
Interested in any comparative insight on question above in helping me make my decision on which tank to go with when upgrading from the stock tank on my 2018 F-250. Both tanks look pretty good. The Titan is made of a tough polymer composite material and comes in at 55 gallon capacity. The Titan also has a skid plate option. The Titan will cost me $1,200 installed. The Transfer Flow tank is made of an aluminium / steel alloy with a 60 gallon capacity. Transfer Flow does not have skid plate option, but claims it is not necessary since the bottom of the tank sits above the differential. The Transfer Flow is ~ $1,800 for the tank, and $250 for installation. Interested why you chose one tank over the other? Both look like solid options. While my truck is a 4x4, it will not be used for any serious off roading.

I got a titan for $970 shipped and swapped myself. I didn't see the value in the TF. It's more money and almost 200lbs heavier empty than the titan. I could be wrong but it's only a 2-3 gallon difference. Titan is a little over 56 with 55 usable. TF is 60 with 57-58? usable. Really comes down to what the truck is used for. Good thing is that you really can't make a bad choice here. Also there are at least a few threads about the topic so do a search and you'll get more info.

Very happy with my Titan. There is no skid available for the 2017+ Titan though. According to the folks I talked to at Titan, they sell a ton of them to the oil industry in TX where trucks are in the field off road all day and never a failure. I'm sure it could happen in the right circumstance but it's not something that I'm super worried about.

I purchased the Transfer Flow simply because it fit my Super Cab Long Bed when Titan said their’s won’t. I purchased the sprayed on bed liner option and they put it on thick. The tank looks like it could take a beating.
Either way, you’re going to love the extra capacity. It seems like I can drive forever without filling up (unless I’m towing!)
The biggest pain in the butt is the stations that will only let you put in $75 or $100 and then they reject your card on the next transaction so you drive away with only 2/3rds of a tank full.

We have a transfer flow 30 gal. tank. Its worked great for 11 years. But it was pricey installed, but will probably get another with our next truck. The Triton has an attractive price but the install is daunting to us, and we want an integrated fuel gauge.
We have never encountered a place where you can not reinsert the card and pump more fuel, and we have traveled n>s, e>w and to Alaska (over 150K). I guess there may be places where this occurs, and in this case we would just use another card.

If you know you will exceed the $75/100 limit at the station, ask the station manager if he/she has an override card. After diesel hit $5 back in 2008, the manager of the local Exxon told me he did that for truckers because otherwise they'd be at the pump for an hour. He said one trucker had to run his credit card ten times to get 200 gallons of diesel. The manager contacted his district rep and apparently that was a common complaint for stations with diesel that were located at interstate highway exits and saw lots of truck traffic. Exxon came up with the override card that the station staffer swipes at the pump and for that transaction, the $75/100 limit is canceled.
