You don’t need a chip if you just want a key to hide on the truck so you can unlock it. Just find a non chip blank and have it cut to match your key. I haven’t looked to see if there is one for our trucks.
I don't know about the chip, I have a lariat that is pushbutton start, keyless entry and all that. However I have 3 of the Bolt brand locks that use a Ford key. I removed the key from the fob and had a non chip side cut high security key made. It unlocks the door, glove box, console, and the Bolt locks. Now it will set off the alarm when you unlock the door and there is not a fob close enough.

Where did you get your key at? about how much was it?
Well the one I got my dealer provided. I looked into getting a second one and any good lockmith, which we have a couple in town will cut one for 30 to 40 dollars. The cheaper ones machine was broken, I am going to check back in a couple weeks.I am trading in the truck but I am keeping the locks to use on the new one.
