Exhaust

Took the cats and muffler off my 95 F150 and was wondering if it'll have any negative effects, other than being illegal.

No negative effects for the engine. The air we breathe is another story.

And the reason for that was.....?

There is little to no negative effect to having these components installed unless they are defective ie the converter has come apart and is restricting flow.

I replaced the dual cats with a single high flow cat and turbo muffler. It is loud enough for me without being obnoxious. I can still hear the radio.
