With a plugged exhaust, you will have a big drop in power with no apparent cause. Start the truck and go back to the exhaust with the thing running and listen to the exhaut pipe. If it sounds good with exhaust coming out like it should, it's ok. If by chance no exhaust is coming out, it's plugged and you could damage the engine if you run it with a plugged exhaust.
If you think the exhaust is plugged, you could take a hacksaw to the pipe before the muffler, cut off the muffler and run the truck to see if it helps.
You can get glasspack mufflers to replace the clogged one or just get a new exhaust system.
