alternator/welder

any body out have one of those alternator/ welder how do they work.

I am going back a few years but I used to work for an outfit that had one on one of their service trucks. As I recall it actually worked pretty well as far as quality of the arc. The downside was that it was only about 130 amps, I beleive they are real pricey. You can probably buy a miller portable that will be a better welder for less money, but if you don't have the room for that the underhood will get you by. Hope this helps.
