Wouldn't I have more electrical issues that just no intermittent wipers?
Nope, in my Navigator I had a leaking windshield and when the GEM got wet all that would happen is the driver's window one touch down circuit would lower the window and not allow it to go back up.
No sunroof, this is just a plane jane 4x4 "work truck" type, when dad bought it he wanted one that could get dirty and be easily cleaned.
We're supposed to get a lot of rain over the weekend, I'll try to monitor and see if I can find any water leaks, hope I can get the soapy water test done too.
Just an update to this issue. I do seem to have a slight, very slight weep leak on the passenger side rear window. Since I swapped out the turn signal/wiper switch, got the droopy headliner replaced and ran with no headliner for a few months trying to pinpoint the leak. Needless to say it's somewhere on the rear window. Since then I had to put the truck back together to use it for a road trip and whatda know? the dern wipers work fine now, have been for months. I'm still leaning on that GEM module I think it's called as to possibly being my source of this problem but we'll see how this goes. Sorry for the delay in responding. T
Last update for this posting; as of today 8/25/2019 the wipers are working fine in all modes. I'm thinking it ended up being the front windshield that was leaking, once that was replaced due to rock damage, the electronics must have
dried out, intermittent wipers, low and hi are running fine.
Update: Hey All, well this issue popped up again on a recent road trip just last week.
Pretty much doing the same thing, none of the intermittent settings work, low speed acts like the "highest intermittent" setting.
Have had no noticeable water leaks, was on a road trip in 97+ degrees and ran into a storm and noticed they were not working correctly.
Way too hot to do anything today supposed to be 100 here, just turned 70k miles on the trip, I'll look into this GEM module and see if I can find any
trace of a leak under the dash - here we go again.
